Actor Thomas Jane and noted artist Tim Bradstreet’s Raw Studios is proud to announce today that they have entered into an exclusive digital distribution agreement with comiXology — the world’s largest digital comics platform — involving all of Raw Studios’ comic book and graphic novels.  To celebrate, Raw Studios and comiXology are today making available the Dark Country graphic novel as an exclusive digital debut across comiXology’s entire platform — including iPhone, iPad, Android, Kindle Fire and the Web.

Bad Planet begins when a Near Earth Object (NEO) collides with our planet. When a race of arachnid-like predators emerges from the wreckage, and mankind stands powerless against the monsters that would prey on it like cattle and use Earth as a macabre breeding ground. At our darkest hour, a lone Phaedon Warrior may be our only salvation.

If you ask me, the place in comics right now with the most new creative sizzle is Image Comics. Between Saga, The Manhattan Projects, Prophet, Glory, Thief of Thieves, Mudman, and Peter Panzerfaust the most imaginative new material seems to be coming not out of new York City, but Berkley.

Dancer PROMO.1Retired assassin Alan Fisher and his ballerina companion must escape a ruthless sniper who stalks them through the streets of Milan. To survive and protect the love of his life, Alan will unravel the tapestry of the past he’s kept hidden and discover the killer’s impossible identity.

From the writer of WHO IS JAKE ELLIS? and the artist of VIKING comes a spy thriller with a 21st Century twist.

People get upset about grave desecration.

Make something up? That’s the coward’s way out.

-Anna Romano

OK, so be heroic.

-Her Public Defender

I am from España, but I am of this place. You must be from the Heathen encampment.

I don’t care if this is the worst dream I’ve ever had. I’m just so happy to see you alive.

-Anna

“Not a dream. Not alive.

-Kit

My review of Jeff Parker & Steve Lieber’s Underground @ Goodreads

UndergroundFar from its colorful origins back in the 90s, with the passing years Image Comics had become my favorite USA’s comic book publisher (right now, Archaia is pushing hard to be on top, but still cannot reach Image’s success).

The above mentioned is because of the solid and compelling books they have been publishing in the last ten years (give or take), most of them far from the superheroes vibe. Like this one, where Agents of Atlas’ Jeff Parker and Whiteout’s Steve Lieber, bring us a claustrophobic and distressing story about two Rangers on the running from some thugs chasing them, who end in a dangerous underground trip to salvation. Also, the tale is peppered with some background story regarding a village suffering a deep economic crisis, torn between the urge to open its natural resources to the tourism, or to just keep them from being exploited from an economic standpoint.

Jeff Parker’s writing is quite good itself, but it reach and upper lever thanks to Lieber’s realistic work – also, Ron Chan’s coloring of the underground scenes is superb.

I highly recommend it.
